About Russell Aitken

Hi. My name is Russ Aitken. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, I studied Graphic Design, Exhibition Design and Photography at Fylde College, Blackpool, Lancashire in the late seventies. After working as a magazine designer, an in-house graphic designer for a large travel company and a director of a graphic design consultancy during the eighties I started my own design and typesetting company working on a wide ranging portfolio of high profile clients including IBM and Scottish Enterprise. I was also a partner in a design and digital photography company based in glasgow during the nineties.
After a career change in the late nineties I worked as a professional musician before studying lutherie at Anniesland College in Glasgow.

I now teach at the very college I studied at and run my own guitar repair business as well as building instuments on commision.
